Mariah Hinkle age 82 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in the Barbourville Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 22, 1941 in Knox County, the daughter of Robert Hinkle and Dora (Bargo) Hinkle. Mariah was a member of the Cole’s Branch Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dora Hinkle, a sister, Pauline Hinkle two brothers, Bob Hinkle and Odell Hinkle and her twin brother Marvin Hinkle.
Mariah had worked for a while at Cotton Cleaners in Barbourville She loved gardening and canning, and grew the best beets. Her family and friends said she made the best cakes and candies that they had ever eaten. She was also a wonderful caregiver during her life.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her sister Irene Smith and husband Harold Gene, her niece, Jewell Sue Crawford and husband Martin and her nephew, Rev. Jerry Smith and wife Sherry all of Flat Lick. She also leaves behind many great nieces, great nephews along with many cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mariah will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Smith and Rev. Terry Broughton officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hinkle Branch Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jamie Hinkle, Chris Smith, Zach Mills, Jake Davis, Dustin Carnes and Martin Crawford. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Wednesday until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
