Obituary for Margaret Joyce Hudson (1948-2021)

Mrs. Margaret Joyce Hudson, 72, of Heidrick, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 9, 2021 at the Barbourville ARH Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Carl and Georgia Barnes Morris born on July 14, 1948 in Knox County.

Joyce was a loving homemaker and caregiver to many.  She was a member of the Lynn Camp Baptist Church.  Joyce loved spending time with her family and friends, attending church activities, cooking for those in need, shopping at Ross and especially eating Little Debbie cakes.

On November 30, 1963, she united in marriage with Ralph Hudson and this union was blessed with four beloved children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; a daughter, Sandy Asher and a sister-in-law, Linda Morris.

Survivors include her children, Carlene Mills of Heidrick, Melinna Broughton and husband, Perry, of Cannon and Donnie Wayne Hudson and wife, Tammy, of Barbourville; a sister, Barbara Trent and husband, Doyle, of Heidrick; three brothers, Gene Morris of Cannon, Rev. Vernon Morris and wife, Joyce, of Corbin and Donnie Ray Morris and wife, Kathy, of Heidrick; grandchildren, Joseph Evans, Joshua Mills, Kaitlin Hudson, Kiara Cornelius, Kennedy Hudson and Bricen Mills; great grandchildren, Hudson Krew Collins, Presley Faith Mills and Jackson Allen Cornelius; two very special friends, Teresa and Bruce Logan; two special young men, Jacob Collins and Jake Unthank; nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, June 13 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Justin Morris, Rev. Vernon Morris and Rev. Sylvester Dunn officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Morris Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Joshua Mills, Joseph Evans, Jacob Collins, Alex Cornelius, Waylon Corey and Samuel Morris.  Serving as an honorary bearer will be Willie Hudson.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the Lynn Camp Baptist Church, Oak Grove Baptist Church, Barbourville Church of God, Dr. Raju Vora, Dr. James West, the wonderful nurses at the Barbourville ARH Hospital and all family and friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
