Barbourville, Ky. – Margaret Helen Davis, 83, affectionately known as Helen, passed away peacefully at her home on October 21, 2020. Helen was the daughter of Birdie Longworth Jackson and Lester Jackson, joyfully born to them on August 8, 1937 in Heidrick.
Helen married Paul Edward Davis in 1958 and become a homemaker, ensuring a happy home for the two of them, as well as for their extended family members and friends. Helen will forever be remembered as kind and nurturing. Many people who knew her well felt her to be a mother figure to them, including her own brother and sisters. Helen also had a strong faith and was a devoted member of her church family at the Barbourville Church of God.
In addition to her parents, Birdie Longworth Jackson and Lester Jackson, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul Edward Davis, three sisters; Lois Prichard, Aileene Gray, Norma Jean Jackson, and one brother; Harold Jackson. Three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law also preceded Helen in death; Mike Stevens, Ralph Gray, Charles Prichard, and Lillie Mae Jackson.
Left behind to mourn Helen’s passing are her dear siblings, sisters: Zelma Stevens and “special sister”, Donna Johnson and brother, Wendall Jackson (Joann). A host of special nieces and nephews will also miss Helen greatly.
The Davis family will receive friends at the Hopper Funeral Home Chapel Friday, October 23, 2020 from 2:00 P.M. until the funeral hour of 4:00 PM. Reverend Sylvester Dunn and Reverend Fred Disney will officiate. Burial will immediately follow the funeral service in the Doolin-Tuggle Cemetery at Heidrick. The family has chosen Tim Jackson, Mark Gray, Derick Johnson, David Johnson, and Ryan Yother as Pallbearers.
