Mrs. Margaret Hamlin Hopkins, 81, of Morristown, TN, formerly of Barbourville, the wife of David Hopkins and the widow of the late William “Bill” Hamlin, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at the Morristown-Hamblen Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Flora Lee Moore born on November 30, 1940 in Knox County.
Margaret was a former English teacher with the Knox County Board of Education and was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Morristown, TN. She enjoyed singing, listening to music, traveling and never missed an opportunity to redecorate. She read her bible daily and loved spending time with her family.
In July 2014, she united in marriage with David Hopkins in Hamblen County, TN.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bill” Hamlin; brothers, George and Denvil Moore; granddaughter, Rachel Elizabeth Bowman.
Survivors include her loving husband, David Hopkins of Morristown; daughters, Dione Bowman and husband, Bobby of Corbin and Darolyn Desgroseilliers and husband, Richard of Morristown; sister, Mary McDaniel and husband, Ron of Morristown; brother, Gilbert Moore and wife, Beverly of London; grandchildren, Amanda Catchings and husband, Omar, Emily Bowman and William Gerald and Lilian Margaret Desgroseilliers; a host of nieces, nephews, other loved ones and dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted in the Rose Cemetery on Monday, October 3, 2022 at 1:30 P.M. with Rev. Bennie Bush officiating.
Casket bearers will be family and friends.
Friends may call at the cemetery Monday after 1 P.M. until the service time.
Expressions of sympathy may go to The Gideons International in her memory.
