Makayla Lynn Smith, age 26 of Barbourville was born in Knox County, KY on May 7, 1996 to Tony and Tonya Crawford Smith and departed this life on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was of the Baptist Faith, and she was a free spirit who enjoyed making people laugh, and time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son: Jayden Smith; maternal grandparents: Johnny and Sudie Brown Crawford; paternal grandmother: Bernice Smith; 2 aunts: Cordia Lynn Crawford and Anna Garland; and 2 uncles: Michael Crawford and James Crawford.
Makayla is survived by her loving parents: Tony and Tonya Smith of Barbourville; a brother: Travis Johnny Smith of Barbourville; 2 sisters: Hannah Mariom and husband Victor, and Tonya Marie Smith all of Barbourville; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral Services for Ms. Makayla Smith will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev Brian Smith and Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Crawford Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Thursday Evening from 6 to 9 P.M. and Friday from 10 A.M. to the funeral hour at 2.
