Maggie Pearlie Mills age 98 of Heidrick, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at her home. She was the widow of Roy Mills and the daughter of Tucker and Vinnie Smith born to them on April 1, 1922 in Oklahoma. She was a member of the Barbourville Church of God. She enjoyed singing and gardening and her flowers. She also loved spending time with friends at the community center.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tucker and Vinnie Smith, her husband Roy Mills, three children, Everette Mills, Harold Gene Mills and Clyde Mills, sisters, Alice Smith, Ellen Smith, Delaney Smith and Minnie Smith, brothers, Senior Smith, Denver Smith, Clarence Smith, Joe Smith, Tucker Smith, Jr. and Burchell Smith, her two sons-in-law, Kenneth Abner and Bill Patton.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her two daughters, Irene Abner of Heidrick and Beatrice Patton of Barbourville, one son, Joe Mills and wife Betty of Cannon, one sister, Lena Vivley Mills of Barbourville, eight grandchildren, Kenny Abner and wife Donna, Tisha Steele and husband Norman, Jamie Abner and wife Sherry, Dinah Cox and husband Mark, Melisia Mills, Dennis Sharp and wife Chasity, Sherry Osborne and husband Tony and Kenny Deaton and wife Cindy. She also leaves behind a host of great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Maggie Pearlie Mills will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Donald Smith and Rev. Sylvester Dunn officiating. Pallbearers will be, Kenny Abner, Jamie Abner, Justin Steele, Dennis Sharp, Jacob Osborne and Kenny Deaton, Honorary pallbearers will be, Tony Osborne, Norman Steele, Johnny Roy Asher, Josh Abner, Chris Abner and Dean Abner. She will be laid to rest in the Hammons Cemetery at Girdler. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m.
Face covering will be required as well as social distancing guidelines of six feet apart will need to be followed during all our services. This is for the safety of our families, visitors’ and staff.
