Loyd “Big Apple” “Blue” Smith, age 66 of Flat Lick, was born in Knox County, KY on November 22, 1954 to the late William and Laura Smallwood and departed this life on January 28, 2021 in the Barbourville ARH Hospital. He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed Fishing, Flea-Markets, all outside activities, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, 2 brothers: Paul Smith and Dennis Smith preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving son: Kevin Smith of Flat Lick; 2 brothers: Aubrey Smith of Flat Lick and Lonzo Smith of Bowling Green; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Loyd Smith will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Mike Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the Hammons Cemetery with Chris Deaton, Nathan Deaton, Bob Deaton, Floyd Milwee, Ronnie Smallwood, Lee Smallwood, Tommy Smith, and Paul Junior Smith serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Sunday Evening from 6 to 9 P.M., Monday from 10 A.M. to 9 P.M., and Tuesday from 10 A.M. to the funeral hour at 1. Due to the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic, and new regulations from our Governor gatherings will be limited and all who attend will be required to wear face mask and practice Social Distancing.
