Obituary for Louis Jay Partin (1939-2022)

Barbourville, Ky. – Louis Jay Partin, Jr., 83, of Little Brush Creek passed away April 2, 2022.  Louis was the son of Louis Jay Partin and Elva McFarland Partin born to them on March 14, 1939, in Cincinnati, Ohio. 

Louis had a strong work ethic and a great sense of humor.  He married Betty Lou Davis on November 4, 1966.  Louis was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church.  He worked as a material handler for Tremco for 35 years.  In his spare time, Louis enjoyed his dog Penny, gardening, western movies, listening to bluegrass music, and sitting on his porch watching deer come and go that he had feed.    

In addition to his parents, Louis Jay Partin and Elva McFarland Partin, Louis was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 46 years Betty Lou Davis Partin.  Left behind to mourn his passing is his sister Melva Scroggins of Burlington, Kentucky, nieces Pat Stephens, of Burlington, Kentucky, Connie Boise, of Burlington, Kentucky, and Linda Arlinghaus, of Petersburg, Kentucky, and nephews Robert Scroggins and John Scroggins both of Erlanger, Kentucky.

Services for Mr. Partin will be at Hopper Funeral Home on April 7, 2022, from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM.   Daniel Alsip will officiate assisted by Josh Carnes.  Interment will follow the funeral service in the Lay Cemetery at Little Brush Creek.  Casket Barriers are Daniel Alsip, Jeff Creighton, Josh Carnes, Randall Wagoner, John Cheek, and Luc Cheek.  Honorary Casket Barriers are cherished friends and neighbors including, Judy Gibson, Louis’s kindhearted and steadfast friend, and Jaycee Creighton, whom Louis considered a granddaughter.
