Loretta Johnson age 67 of Barbourville departed this life on Thursday morning, September 2, 2021 at her home. She was the daughter of Charles Crit Johnson and Velma (Childers) Johnson born to them on March 23, 1954. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church and enjoyed attending church and singing. She also loved watching any kind of sports on television especially wrestling and liked to go bowling with her parents.
She is preceded in death by her father, Charles Crit Johnson and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her mother Verna Johnson of Barbourville, two sisters, Shirley Bentley and partner Frederick of Barbourville and Mary Ann Parrott and husband John of Pineville, one brother Charles Crit Johnson, Jr. of Barbourville, aunts and uncles, Oval Childers of Gary, Indiana, Betty Weichman of Columbus, Indiana, Farrel Childers and wife Launa of London and Charles Childers, Jr. and wife Joann of Nancy, nieces and nephews, Rebecca Raines and husband Keith of Barbourville, John Parrott and wife Tressie of Irvin, Kentucky, Mindy Brigmon and husband Joey of Pineville, Aundrea Baker and husband Paul of Morristown, TN, Rebecca Jon Johnson and husband Jeff of Middlesboro and Chelsea Luke and husband John of Florence, Kentucky, two great nephews, Joseph and Lane Brigmon of Pineville. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Loretta will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, September 4, 2021 at 1:30 with Rev. Jim Bargo and Rev. Mann Cobb officiating. Pallbearers will be, Keith Raines, Joey Brigmon, John Parrott, Joseph Brigmon, John Luke and Chris Childers. She will be laid to rest in the Powell Cemetery on Knox Fork Rd. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:30.
