Lonnie Cecil, age 77 of Trosper was born in Harlan County, KY on April 15, 1944 to the late Grady and Bessie Crawford Cecil and departed this life on Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Baptist Health of Corbin. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on cars, and time with family and friends, especially the grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, 3 brothers: Lowell Cecil, Rondal Cecil, and Doyle Cecil; and 1 sister: Flo Crawford preceded him in death.
Lonnie is survived by his loving wife: Marsha Cecil of Trosper; 3 sons: Bobby Cecil and wife Sandy of Bimble, Barry Cecil and wife Delores of Trosper, and Travis Cecil and wife Breanna of Artemus; a brother: Michael Cecil and wife Kim of IN; 2 sisters: Shirley Williams of Big Stone, VA, and Faye Volpi of Arkansas; 4 grandchildren: Tanisha Jones, Hannah Bowden, Haylee Lewis, and Kinsley Cecil; 3 great grandchildren: Colton Jones, Callen Jones, and Magnolia Lewis; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Lonnie Cecil will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Arthur Phipps officiating. Burial will follow in the Powers Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Thursday Evening from 6 to 9 P.M. and Friday from 10 A.M. to the funeral hour at 2.
