Mrs. Lizzie Bingham age 86 of Scalf, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, July1, 2021 at her home with her family by her side. She was born on November 25, 1934, the daughter of Finley Mills and Mary Jane (Bingham) Mills. On December 11, 1963 she united in marriage with Powell Bingham and to this union eight children were born. She was a member of the Jeff’s Creek Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Finley and Mary Jane Mills, four brothers, Lester Mills, Chester Mills, Victor Mills and Whitley Mills and six sisters, Hester Mills, Estie Mills, Roxie Mills, Nancy Mills, Gussie Bargo and Ethel Mills one grandchild, Whitney Kendall Bingham and one great grandchild, Jacob Ethan Ward and a daughter in law Patricia (Soda) Bingham.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her husband Powell Bingham of Scalf, four sons, Teddy Bingham and wife Mary of Scalf, Doyle Bingham of Scalf, Loyall Bingham and wife Kathy of Flat Lick and Wilbert Dean Bingham and wife Mickey of Scalf, four daughters, Carol Ward and husband Russell of Scalf, Mary Ann Lewis and husband Ray of Corbin, Delaine Meade and husband Shawn of Corbin and Elaine Jackson and husband Les of Corbin. She also leaves behind sixteen grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and four step great grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Bingham will be conducted on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kennon Roark and Rev. Herman Mills officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Lester Mills Cemetery at Scalf. Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
