Mrs. Linda Mae Barnes age 70 of Girdler, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, April 9. 2023 at her home. She was born of April 9, 1953 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of William Oscar Newman and Eva Juanita (Branum) Newman.
She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church. She had worked Warner’s in Barbourville and then at Tremco for thirty-eight years. Linda loved being outdoors, gardening and growing her flowers and being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Laymon Barnes in 1998, her parents, William Oscar and Juanita Newman and one sister, Selma Jean Barnes.
Left behind to mourn her passing, three sons, Anthony Lynch and Etta, David Barnes and Morris Barnes all of Girdler, three grandchildren, James Lee Earls of Cincinnati, Ohio, Steven Lynch of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Levi Lynch of Morehead, Kentucky, two brothers, D. R. Newman of Poplar Creek and Edmond Newman of Girdler, and her former daughter-in-law, Crystal Lynch of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Linda Barnes will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dewayne Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband Laymon in the Barnes family cemetery. Pallbearers will be Anthony Lynch, Steven Lynch, David Barnes, Morris Barnes, Josh Barnes and Garfield Cox. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
