Ms. Linda Helen Gray, 68, passed away Thursday afternoon, February 22, 2024 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Bige and Helen Hurd Bingham born on February 8, 1956 in Jefferson County.
Linda loved to love people. She could see the good in all people and loved to help in any way possible. She was a caregiver to her brother, Michael Bingham, until his passing in 2020. The caregiver role that she excelled at so graciously was her greatest accomplishment in her children’s eyes. However, Linda’s greatest accomplishment in her eyes, were her six grandchildren that she spoiled endlessly.
Linda’s gaze was always set on Jesus and sharing the gospel was one of her favorite things to do. She was a member of the Liberty Missionary Baptist Church at Artemus. She loved congregating and being at church as it was where she found peace.
She united into marriage with Terry Farris on May 15, 1976, who preceded her in death in 1995.
In addition to her parents, husband and brother, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Terry Stephen Farris.
Linda is survived by her three loving daughters and their husbands, Tara and Mike Taylor, April and Cory Sears and Ashley and Josh Carnes; six cherished grandchildren, Dylan Sears, Aubrey Sears, Camden Taylor, Skylar Carnes, Emma Carnes and Kinley Carnes; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, March 1 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Samuel Lawson and Rev. Daniel Alsip officiating. She will be laid to rest in the York Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Cory Sears, Camden Taylor, Mike Taylor, Josh Carnes, Don Sears, Daniel Alsip and Billy Smith.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Friday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
