Leonard Smith, age 81 of Walker was born in Walker, KY on November 5, 1939 to the late Jessie and Chelsie Messer Smith and departed this life on September 23, 2021 at his home. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and enjoyed Squirrel and Coon hunting, playing Poker, Rabbit hunting, farming and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents: Jessie and Chelsie Smith; 3 brothers: Oscar Messer, James Albert Smith, and Richard Smith; and a sister: Bertha Messer preceded him in death.
Leonard is survived by his loving children: Travis Curry and wife Christy, Jessica Curry and Kasey Smith all of Walker; his fiancé: Darlene Hampton of Walker; 2 brothers: Roscoe Smith and wife Ruth of London, and Escoe Smith of Dewit; a sister: Maxine Ferria of AL; 2 grandchildren: Hayden Gambrel and Zaden Curry; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Leonard Smith will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lonnie Collett and Rev. Alonzo Messer officiating. Burial will follow in the Mills-Smith Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Saturday Evening from 6 to 9 PM and Sunday from 10 AM to the funeral hour at 2.
