Obituary for Leonard Carr Saylor (1954-2023)

 Mr. Leonard Carr Saylor, age 69 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 in the University of Louisville Jewish Hospital. He was born on June 27, 1954 in Bell County, Kentucky, the son of Gilbert Saylor and Maudie (Caudill) Saylor. On August 8, 1975, he united in marriage with Mary Collett and to this union four children were born. He was a member of the Crockett-Saylor Pentecostal Church and had worked as a bus driver for the Knox County Board of Education. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and spending time with his family.

      He is preceded in death by his parents. Gilbert and Maudie Saylor.

      Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife of forty-eight years, Mary Saylor, his four children, Tianna King of Barbourville, Misty Warren of Barbourville, Kristy Saylor of Flat Lick and Leonard Saylor, Jr. and wife Sharon of Flat Lick, five grandchildren, Jeffery Banfield and wife Rebecca of Corbin, Christoper Saylor and wife McKayla of Flat Lick, Ethan Saylor of Flat Lick, Connor Warren and Aaron Warren both of Barbourville, his dog Lily who he considered his grandchild, six great-grandchildren, Brantley, Jasper, Austyn, Jefferey, Jr., Isabella and Titus, three siblings, Nancy Honeycutt and husband Lee of Barbourville, Joe Saylor and wife Barbara and Hallie Gray and husband Roger all of Flat Lick. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends.

      Funeral services for Mr. Saylor will be conducted in the Crockett-Saylor Pentecostal Church in Bell County on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Ronnie Hoskins, Rev. Demus Couch, Rev. Richard Asher and 
Rev. Freddie Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Jeffery Banfield, Christopher Saylor, Ethan Saylor, Connor Warren, Aaron Warren, Virgil Roark and Frances Sizemore. Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of all arrangements.

      Friends will be received at the church on Friday evening after 6:00 p.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 on Sunday.
