Obituary for Larry Wayne Hammons (1960-2021)

Larry Wayne Hammons, age 61 of Artemus, was born in Ohio, on February 22, 1960 to the late Clinton Hammons and Geneva Johnson Hammons and departed this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at his home.  He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed going to the lake, helping the Fire Department, helping the community while serving as a Knox County Sherriff’s Deputy, and time with family and friends. 

In addition to his parents: Clinton and Geneva Hammons; 2 sisters: Darlene Rice and Marilyn Smith preceded him in death.

Larry is survived by his former wife and companion: Lisa Hammons of Artemus; 4 daughters: Jennifer R. Young and husband Larry, Jessica L Marsee and husband Charles, and Rebecca N Lake and husband Kevin all of Artemus, and Heather M Cook and husband Edward of Corbin; 2 brothers: Matt Hammons of Barbourville, and Rick Hammons and wife Monica of OH; 8 grandchildren: Wendy, Elijah, Charlye, Calvin, Edward, Landon, Rodney, and Reed; 1 great grandchild: Kassidy; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Larry Hammons will be held at a latter date.  Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
