Mr. Larry Steven “Nabs” Mills, 71, of Bimble, passed away Sunday morning, March 31, 2024 at the Middlesboro ARH Hospital. He was the son of the late Fred and Margie Marie Trent Mills born on August 22, 1952 in Knox County.
Larry was a former certified welder and a member of the Arjay Baptist Church. He was a Lone Jack High School graduate. Larry enjoyed life and was always glad to stop and visit with family and friends, because he never met a stranger. He also enjoyed family reunions, playing horse shoes and checkers, swimming and travelling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Kathleen Ann Owens and nephews, Wendell Woody Slusher, Shawn Steven Owens and John David Brock Jr.
Survivors include his loving siblings, Jerry Dwayne Mills and wife, Sue, of Kettle Island, Dwight Toleman Mills of Barbourville, Bonnie Lou Mills of Heidrick, Patricia Sue Jackson and husband, Randy, Joey Allan Mills and Cindy Kay Ambach and husband, Greg, all of Barbourville, Fred Mills Jr. of Manchester and Jimmy Darrell Mills and wife, Cindy, of Davis Bend; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Thursday, April 4 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Fred Disney and Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Hampton Cemetery at Girdler.
Casket bearers will be his brothers and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Middlesboro Health and Rehabilitation Facility and Middlesboro ARH Hospital ICU.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Wednesday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Thursday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
