Mr. Larry Junior Broughton age 72 of Pikeville, North Carolina, formerly of Barbourville departed this life on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in Wayne UNC Health Care in Goldsboro, North Carolina. He was born on April 23, 1952, the son of Floyd Albert Broughton and Sarah Jane (Bargo) Broughton. Larry was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Sarah Broughton and one brother, Kenny Broughton.
Left behind to mourn his passing, four brothers, Tommy Lee Broughton and wife Marie of Pikeville, NC, Michael Broughton and wife Angela of Brogden, NC, Albert Broughton and wife Cora of London, KY and Chris Broughton and wife Becky of Laurinburg, NC, three sisters, Linda Sexton and husband David of Brogden, NC, Carol Durkin of Princeton, NC and Faye Harper and husband Kenny of Princeton, NC and one sister-in-law, Patty Broughton of Savannah, Georgia. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Broughton will be conducted on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 12:00 noon with Rev. Mann Cobb officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Bargo Family Cemetery on Walker Park Road in Barbourville. Pallbearers will be family. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 12:00 noon.
