Barbourville, Ky. – Larry Hensley, 73, of DeWitt, Kentucky, passed away June 7, 2023. Larry was the son of Fox Hensley and Dora Mills Hensley born to them July 18, 1949, in Knox County, Kentucky.
Larry was a Christian of Baptist Faith. He was a generous man, well-loved and known in his community. Larry enjoyed cooking breakfast, collecting antiques, and spending time outdoors. His favorite pastimes included fishing, hunting, and trapping. Larry will be greatly missed and remembered fondly by all who knew and loved him.
Left behind to mourn his passing are his daughters MacKenzie Paige Hensley and Gwen Evans, son Brian Hensley, stepson James Adam Brown (Hollie), sister Betty Blanton, and a host of beloved grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Fox and Dora Mills Hensley, and brother William Hensley.
The Hensley family will receive friends at Hopper Funeral Home Sunday, June 11, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday, June 12, 2023, from 12:00 PM until the funeral hour of 2:00 PM. Reverend Ken Merida will officiate. Musical tributes to be performed by Pete and Sudie Messer. Interment will follow the funeral service in the Barbourville Cemetery, Knox County, Kentucky. Casket Bearers are Pete Messer, Adam Brown, Keenan Jones, Boyd Jones, Matthew Blanton, and Tanner Lotze.
