Mr. Kirk Devers, 70, of Barbourville, passed away Monday morning, October 17, 2022 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset. He was the son of the late George Elmer and Thula Mae Broce Devers born on July 14, 1952 in Woodford County.
Kirk was a farmhand and a member of the New Covenant Church. He loved his grandchildren and spent as much time as possible with them. He also loved his dogs, Coco and Max and enjoyed the company of women. He was always ready to go eat at the Cracker Barrel, one of his favorite restaurants and also enjoyed eating plenty of snack cakes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Diane Devers; a brother, Sonny Devers and a special brother-in-law, Paul Lawson.
Survivors include his children, Kirk Devers and wife, Vickie, of Frankfort, Mary Kay Brewer and husband, Rob, of Georgetown, Kirstie Brumley and husband, Danny, of Woodford County and Erica Adams of Georgetown; sisters, Brenda Kay Lawson of Barbourville, Debbie Saylor and husband, Don, of Oxford, Ohio and Julia Swords of Corbin; a brother, Mark Devers and wife, Angie, of Richmond; grandchildren, Courtney and Cordale Devers, Cameron and Brianna Brewer, Alex and Christina Adams, Tyler and Logan Brumley and Nathaniel Cummins; great-grandchildren, Zachary Hale, Easton Devers and Sophia Devers; several nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His memorial service will be held Saturday, October 29 at the New Covenant Church at 2 P.M. with Rev. Jamie Buchanan officiating. A private burial will follow the service.
Friends may call at the church after 12 Noon until the service time.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
