Kayla was born June 24, 1987, and grew up in Barbourville, Kentucky. She was hard working and held numerous jobs through the years to provide for herself and her children. Kayla was funny, kind, generous, helpful, silly and a loving family member who had difficulty seeing any of that in herself. She was that bright light in a dim room.
Kayla enjoyed spending time with her children, they were her entire world. She was so proud of her kids and all their accomplishments, most recently her daughter Rylee’s high school graduation with honors.
Those who knew Kayla best, also knew of her true love affair with shoes. Every shopping trip she took was headed straight for the shoe display aisle. She also had a fond love for sipping on a good cup of coffee from one of her favorite collections of coffee cups. She will be forever missed.
A memorial for Kayla will be held Thursday, June 27th, at Harvey’s On Main, 115 South Main Street in Corbin, Ky at 12:30. A time for food and fellowship will follow her service. Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home is assisting Kayla’s family.
In the days ahead, the family asks that you remember the joyful and happy times you spent together with Kayla and the joy she brought into so many lives. Do something that brings personal happiness and share it with your loved ones.
