Obituary for Kathleen Williams (1935-2022)

Kathleen Williams, 86, of Flat Lick, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022.  Kathleen was the daughter of Ethel Lucille (Phipps) Anderson and Elbert Crit Anderson, joyfully born to them on October 26, 1935, in Emanuel Hollow, Knox County, Kentucky. Kathleen was raised in Knox County. She attended and graduated from Knox Central High School. On September 14, 1956, Kathleen married Charles “Red” Williams and to this union, three beautiful daughters were born: Teresa, Lisa and Rhonda. Kathleen’s daughters, were one of the great joys of her life.

Kathleen was patient, loyal, and loving.  She was a hard worker, steadfastly devoted to her family, friends, church, employers, and community.  Kathleen was a wonderful homemaker, wife, and mother.  She instilled in her daughters from an early age, the importance of working hard, attending church, and obtaining as much education as possible.  She maintained a close relationship with her daughters throughout the years.  Kathleen enjoyed hosting Sunday dinners for the “girls” and their families.  Kathleen was a good cook and sharing food with others was important to her.  She often organized the food ministry for families in her community.  Kathleen was an active member of the Turkey Creek Baptist Church for many years, helping the church community anyway she could. In addition to homemaking, Kathleen worked outside the home for many years at the Creek Store, Walmart, and as a seamstress, for Warners.  She also volunteered at the Knox County Hospital Auxiliary. More than anything though, Kathleen loved being in the company of others whether that be at home, work, church, or in her community.  She was blessed to have a loving family and many great lifelong friends.

In addition to her parents, Ethel Lucille (Phipps) Anderson and Elbert Crit Anderson, Kathleen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles “Red” Williams, brother Floyd Russell Anderson, and sisters (infant) Gladys Ann Anderson, and Jacqueline Myrtle Anderson.

Left behind to mourn her passing are Kathleen’s three cherished daughters: Teresa Williams of Flat Lick, Kentucky, Lisa Coyle (Doug) of Waco, Kentucky, and Rhonda Clouse (Patrick) of Barbourville, Kentucky, and her beloved grandchildren: Gunnar Clouse, Connor Clouse, and Hope Coyle. She also leaves behind her best friend, Ms. Axie Corey.
