Ms. Katelynn Hope Sizemore, 28, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 28, 2023 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. She was the daughter of Vernon J. Frederick and Shelia Engle Brown born on August 7, 1994 in Lexington.
Katelynn was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed shopping, fishing and traveling. Her greatest joy was being a mom.
She united in marriage with Austin Sizemore and to this union two children were born.
Family members to precede her in death include her grandmother, Peggy Frederick; grandfather, Jimmy “Bo” Engle and an uncle, Michael Frederick.
Survivors include her parents, Vernon Frederick and wife, Sonya, and Shelia Brown and husband, Steve, all of Flat Lick; her fiancé, R. D. Asher of Barbourville; seven cherished children, Nova, Dale, Weston, Mason, Gannon, Legend and Navy Kate; a sister, Kendra Rice and husband, Burchell, of Barbourville; two brothers, Corey Frederick and wife, Shania, of Woollum and Jerry Bright and wife, Julie, of Barbourville; grandfather, Jerry Frederick of Flat Lick; grandmother, Sandra Engle and fiancé, Dennis Terry, of Corbin; several beloved nieces and nephews; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, March 5 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Corey Frederick, Jerry Bright, Mark Honeycutt, Jerry Vaughn, Burchell Rice and Cassidy Jones. Honorary bearers will be the staff of the University of Kentucky Medical Center and the Ronald McDonald House of the Bluegrass.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.
