Judy Lynn (Rice) Burton , age 62 of Cannon, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, September 3, 2022 in the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was born on June 26, 1960 in Pineville, Kentucky the daughter of Carrie (Parsons) Rice and J.M. Rice. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hillside House of Prayer. She enjoyed quilting, reading, writing, sewing, fishing and riding horses. Judy served her country in the United States Navy.
She is preceded in death by her father, J.M. Rice, her grandparents, Reed & Lucy Rice, one sister, Barbara Epperson, two nephews, Jeremy Epperson and Daniel Epperson and aunt Vivian Cox and uncle, Adern Cox.
Left behind to mourn her passing, her mother, Carrie Rice of Cannon, two daughters, Bridgett Bingham of Bimble and Tabitha Duncan of Cannon, grandchildren, Mary Riley, Emily Duncan, Jewelian Riley, Seth Duncan, Desirae Duncan and Madisyn Hubbard, two sisters, Melissa Epperson and husband Larry of Ohio and Sheila Brown and husband Walter from Bimble, two brothers, Amos Rice and Phillip Rice and wife Patrisha all of Bimble. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Judy Lynn Burton will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Helton and Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Pallbearers will be Aaron Gray, Christopher Rice, Cody Hubbard, Seth Duncan, Johnathan Rice and Jerry West. She will be laid to rest in the Rice Cemetery on Higgins Hollow Rd. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
