Obituary for Judy Lynn Mills (1949-2022)

Mrs. Judy Lynn Mills, 73, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday morning, November 22, 2022 at the UK Bluegrass Hospice Care Center in Lexington.  She was the daughter of the late Charles Langdon and Eathel Scalf Henson born on September 18, 1949 in Barbourville.

Judy was the owner and operator of Kids First Learning Child Care Center for over 25 years and a member of Henderson Chapel.  She enjoyed sewing, cooking, tending her flowers, singing, dancing and especially loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.

On April 30, 1975, she united in marriage with Hubert Mills Jr., who preceded her in death.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Bruce Len Williamson.

Survivors include her loving daughter, Janel Melby and husband, Randy, of London; step children, Pam Orr and husband, Bill, Tina Ross and husband, Rob, and Tony Mills all of Harvard, IL; three sisters, Janet Ledford and husband, Jack, Bonnie Carr and Beverly Foley all of Barbourville; a brother, Danny Henson of Barbourville; treasured grandchildren, Kari and Barak Williamson, Cade and Emma Melby, Matthew and Samantha Monson, Peyton Schneider and Gloria Tracy; a sister-in-law, Donna Mills; brothers-in-law, Junior Foley and Dennis Mills; a host of special nieces and nephews including Cindy Bailey, who she loved as a daughter; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Sunday, November 27 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Rema Helton officiating.  She will be laid to rest in the Tanyard Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be her nephews.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Sunday prior to the funeral hour.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
