Mrs. Judy Ann Brock, 76, of Flat lick, passed away Tuesday evening, November 12, 2024 at her home. She was the daughter of the late James and Ruby Carnes Bingham born December 28, 1947 in Knox County.
Judy retired after many years of service as a school cook, having worked at both Dewitt Elementary School and Knox Central High School. Her love for cooking was evident in everything she prepared and she was known for her delicious meals, particularly her chicken and dumplings and chocolate pie, which were favorites among her family.
A member of Walker Baptist Church, Judy enjoyed spending time with her church family and found comfort in her faith. She was also an avid shopper, a lover of gospel television programs, and took great pride in caring for her lawn.
Judy was a devoted mother, sister and friend. Her impact on those around her will be remembered for years to come.
On September 9, 1966 she united in marriage with Dan Gambrel who preceded her in death. She later united in marriage with Marvin Brock, who also preceded her in death.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Merida; brother, General Bingham and sister-in-law, Bonnie Perkins Bingham.
Survivors include her loving sons, Jason Gambrel and wife, Samantha, of Middlesboro and Scotty Gambrel and wife, Vickie, of Flat Lick; sister, Lorene Bingham of Flat Lick; special niece, Angie Mills; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, November 18 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Ken Merida and Rev. Bo Henson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Gale Bingham Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Stephen Grace, Jerry Merida, Tony Mills, Chris Sizemore, family and friends. Honorary bearers will be the staff of the Knox EMS Service and the members of Flat Lick Volunteer Fire Department.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Sunday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
