Mrs. Juanita Sue Mason, 71, of Hinkle, passed away Wednesday morning, October 13, 2021 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Evelyn Moore Mills born on November 24, 1949 in Knox County.
Juanita was a former seamstress with Warner’s and SEKRI and a member of the Free Spirit Baptist Church. She enjoyed collecting dolls, sewing and was an avid UK basketball fan.
On December 20, 1988, she united in marriage with Donald Ray Mason.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray and siblings, Ernest Mills, Carolyn Elza, Wilma Callebs, Phyllis Jones, Lester Mills, Brenda Evans and Paris Mills.
Survivors include her children, Douglas Mills and wife, Maggie, of London and Richard Mills of Hamilton, OH; sisters, Louise Jones of Whitesburg and Sharlette Mills and husband, Bill Hensley, of London; treasured grandchildren, Keisha Mills and Jonathan Mills; among other loved ones and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Friday, October 22 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Tip Smith and Rev. Mickie Smith officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Moore Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be George Gaines, Ashley Cope, Jonathan Gaines, Richard Mills, Douglas Mills, William Mills and Steven Mills.
Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday between 6 and 9 P.M. and Friday prior to the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
