Mr. Johnny Ray Gambrel age 61 of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at his home. He was the son of Arthur Gambrel and Beulah (Jones) Gambrel born to them on April 29, 1960, in Knox County. He had worked as a construction worker with National Standard and enjoyed deer hunting with his son and brothers. On August 18, 1978, he united in marriage with Teresa Hensley and to this union one son was born.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Beulah Gambrel and one brother, Rick Gambrel.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his wife Teresa Gambrel and his son, Johnathan Arthur Gambrel and wife Shawnna all of Corbin, two brothers, Jack Gambrel and wife June and Eddie Gambrel all of Rising Sun, Indiana, five sisters, Wilma Patterson and husband Michael of Barbourville, Eunice Detwiler and husband Joe, Phyllis Gambrel all of Maineville, Ohio, Linda Kay Martin and Lisa Creasy and husband Sam all of Cannon, Kentucky, his father-in-law, Rev. Columbus Hensley of Corbin. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation for Mr. Gambrel will be conducted on Saturday, April 30, 2022, at the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m. Family and friends will then go in procession to the Dozier Cemetery at Bimble where he will be laid to rest. Creasy, Eddie Gambrel, C.J. Gambrel, and Dawson Miracle. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.
