Mr. Johnny Ray Broughton, age 65 of Bryant’s Store was born in Knox County, KY on July 7, 1954 to the late George Tye, Sr. and Nannie Broughton and departed this life on Friday, December 20, 2019 in the Saint Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and enjoyed working on old cars, fishing, 4-wheeling, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, a brother: Frank Tye; and a sister: Norma Dean Tye preceded him in death.
Johnny is survived by his loving children: Tom Broughton and wife Carla and Belinda Sue Smith all of Barbourville; 5 brothers: Arthur Tye of Middlesboro, George Tye, Jr. and Ronnie Tye of Rockhold, Kenneth Tye and wife Connie of Williamsburg, and Wayne Thomas Tye and wife Tammy of Artemus; 3 sisters: Patricia Hill and husband Charles of Harps Creek, Brenda Sue Goldstein and husband Hollis of Vine Grove, and Mary Magdalene Tye of Seneca, SC; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Johnny Broughton will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Terry Broughton officiating. Burial will follow in the Tye-Peace Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the Barbourville Funeral Home Thursday Evening from 6 to 9 P.M. and Friday from 10 A.M. to the funeral hour at 1.
