Mr. John Anderson Smith, 70, of Hinkle, passed away Sunday morning, July 3, 2022 at his home. He was the son of the late Henry Tucker and Axie Smith born on September 15, 1951 at Woollum.
John was a carpenter and handyman, who could do just about anything, and a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, gardening and dearly loved spending time with his grandbabies.
On September 22, 1979, he united in marriage with Lana Marie Severs who preceded him in death in January of this year.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Henry T. Smith Jr. and Glen Smith.
Survivors include his loving children, Crystal Marie Brown of Hinkle and Melinda Sue Nielsen and husband, Nicholas, of Miamisburg, OH; five sisters, Delonia Floyd and husband, Kenneth, of Yosemite, Lois Smith of Waynesburg, Mary Ruth Riley of Hinkle, Geraldine Phillips of London and Linda Sue Miles and husband, Gary, of Hinkle; dearly loved grandchildren, Tucker Anderson Brown, Maggie Marie Brown, Lana Rose Jones and Tessa Marlana Nielsen; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted at the Green Road Baptist Church Friday, July 8 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Mickie Smith and Rev. Travis Tedders officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cottongim Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be Nicholas Nielsen, Christopher Gibson, Nicholas Gibson, Chris Swafford, Anthony Dukes and Larry Sowders.

Friends may call at the church Friday after 11 A.M. until the funeral hour.
