Mr. Joe Cecil Hemphill, Jr. age 53 of Belleville, Michigan departed this life on Thursday, August 18, 2022 at his home. He was born on June 19, 1969 in Southfield, Michigan the son of Fannie (Martin) Hemphill and J.C. Hemphill. He graduated from Belleville High in 1987 then went on to study Electrical Engineering first at Henry Ford College then at Lawrence Technological University. He turned from engineering and instead took a job at Flat Out Bakery where he was promoted to supervisor. Joe was an avid reader and also enjoyed anime.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Hemphill and also by his paternal grandparents Joe and Pearl Hemphill of Bimble, Kentucky and his maternal grandparents Tom and Mary Martin of Girdler Kentucky.
Left behind to mourn his passing, his father, J.C. Hemphill of Belleville, Michigan and his sister, Erica Rose and her husband Matthew of Fremont, Michigan and three nephews, Caleb, Joshua and Jacob. He also leaves behind many other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral services for Mr. Hemphill will be conducted on Monday, August 22, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Vaughn officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Sizemore Cemetery at Bimble, KY. Pallbearers will be Matthew Rose, Caleb Rose, Terry Garland, Wayne Martin, Jerry Robinson and Roger Smith. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m.
