Mrs. Joann Gray, age 74 of Flat Lick, Kentucky departed this life on Saturday, October 19, 2024, in the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on May 7, 1950, in Bell County, the daughter of Obie Brown and Julie (Collins) Brown. She is the widow of Roy Gray, Sr. and was a member of the Springfield Baptist Church. Joann loved shopping and enjoyed cooking.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roy Gray, Sr., her parents, Obie and Julie Brown, a son, Obie Lee Gray, a grandson, Nick Mills, two brothers, Tom Brown and Roscoe Brown and one sister, Ruth Gray.
Left behind to mourn her passing, a daughter, Judy Cowley of Corbin, a son, Roy Gray, Jr. of Flat Lick, four grandchildren, Jessica Lunsford and husband Ricky of Flat Lick, Taijha Kleinman and husband Andrew of Corbin, Brandon Gray and wife Alisha, and Selena Jo Gray both of Flat Lick, great-grandchildren, Addison Lunsford, Nate Lunsford, Ryan Lunsford, Hunter Gray, Layla Kleinman, Drew Kleinman, Nicholas Chance Mills, three brothers, Bryant Brown, Walter Brown and Mitchell Brown and two sisters, Juanita Gray and Charlotte Christie. She also leaves behind a special nephew, Harrison Mills, Jr. along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Joann Gray will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Mike Collins officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Roy Gray Cemetery in Flat Lick. Pallbearers will be, Harrison Jr. Mills, Hunter Gray, Roscoe Brown, Scotty Brown, Brandon Gray and Jacob Martin. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00 p.m.
