Mrs. Jo Ann (Jackson) Cheek age 75 of Cannon, Kentucky departed this life on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. She is the daughter of Arnold James Jackson and Annie Mae Jackson. She was born on November 5, 1948 in Barbourville, Kentucky. She was a member of Horn Branch Baptist Church and served on the Daniel Boone Festival Committee for several years. She also was a member of the I believe in Santa Claus Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents Arnold and Annie Mae Jackson, her husband of forty-eight years John E. Cheek, four siblings Fred Ray Jackson, Randall Jackson, Lonnie Lewis Jackson, Barbara Sue Payne.
Left behind to mourn her passing, one sister Lillian Fisher, special friends Charles Jordan and wife Mary, Martha Mitchell and Priscilla Saunders. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Ann Cheek will be conducted in the Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tommy Frazier officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Hutchinson Cemetery in Barbourville. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Hampton Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 1:00.
