Obituary for Jim Tom Leath (1933-2020)

Jim Tom Leath, age 87 of Flat Lick, KY was born in Knox County, KY on July 25, 1933 to the late James Elliott Leath and Flora Lissa Mae Polly Leath and departed this life on Sunday, November 22, 2020 in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.  He was a member of Paint Hill Pentecostal Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, squirrel hunting, yard work, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents: James and Flora Leath; 2 sisters: Maudie Mullins and Lula Bell Sizemore; and an infant brother preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife: Jerldine Warfield Leath of Flat Lick; 5 daughters: Darlene Frey and husband Edward of OH, Cathy Huebner and husband Pete of Dayton, KY, Jeanette Snow of Burlington, KY and Donna Doolin and Melissa Smith and husband Jackie all of Flat Lick; 3 sons: Gary Wayne Warfield and wife Carmen of Flemingsburg, KY and James Leath and wife Linda Sue and Brian Leath all of Flat Lick; 2 sisters: Christine Wilson of Corbin and Bessie Leath of Pineville; 18 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jim Tom Leath will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. with Rev. Pete Huebner officiating.  Burial will follow in the Leath Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers.  Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Family visitation will be Friday Evening from 5 to 9 and Saturday from 10 A.M. to the funeral hour at 1.  Due to the continuing COVID-19 Pandemic, and new regulations from our Governor gatherings will be limited to 25 people and all who attend will be required to wear face mask and practice Social Distancing.  Due to these regulations, we will have a Register outside under the porch for those who wish to stop by and sign.
