Obituary for Jim Dee Marcum, 87

Mr. Jim Dee Marcum age 87 of Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his home. He was the husband of Ava Marie (Baker) Marcum and the son of Bersee Marcum and Allie Mae (Collins) Trosper. Mr. Marcum served his country in the United States Army. He was an outdoorsman and loved to play horseshoes and enjoyed carpentry.

     He is preceded in death by his parents and five siblings, Margaret Catherine Trosper, Samuel Andrew Marcum, Charles Douglas Trosper, Garnet Trosper and Tom Trosper.

     Survivors include his loving wife Ava Marie Marcum, three wonderful sons, Thomas Marcum and wife Pamela of Chesterton, Indiana, Terry Marcum and Diane of Kalamazoo, Michigan and Jason Marcum of Corbin, Kentucky, four beloved grandchildren, Christopher Marcum and David Marcum both of Chesterton, Indiana, Renee’ Hoover of England and Melissa Marcum of Kalamazoo, Michigan and a great granddaughter, Alina Hoover of England, two sisters, Wilma Day and Eva Lynn Covey both of Florence, Kentucky and one brother, William Trosper of Portage, Indiana. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.

     Funeral services for Mr. Marcum will be conducted in the Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Collins officiating. Pallbearers will be family & friends. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Cobb-Hampton Funeral Home will be in charge of arrangements.

     Friends will be received at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12:00 noon until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.

     Please remember, face coverings will be required and social distancing guidelines of six feet apart will need to be followed during all our services. This is for the safety of our families, visitors and staff.
