Mr. Jessie Lee “Chocolate” Gray, age 44 of Bimble was born in Pineville, KY on July 2, 1980 to Bobby Gray and Kara Schorpp Gray and departed this life on September 5, 2024 in the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was a member of the Old Flat Lick Missionary Baptist Church and enjoyed anything to do with cars, and time with family and friends. Jessie had a love for cars, trucks, and talking. During his first stay in the hospital, after becoming ill he let everyone know he could not stay in the hospital because he had a car show to go to.
Jessie was preceded in death by his mother: Kara Schropp O’Rourke; aunts; uncles; cousins; and grandparents.
Survivors include his father and step mother: Bobby and Rita Gray of Bimble; 3 lovely children: Beth Gray of Bimble, Beck gray, and Landon Gray both of Barbourville; a brother he loved greatly: James Gray and fiancé Morgan Rager of Groveland, FL; a cherished granddaughter: Alorah Danielle Gray; a very special nephew: Laine Gray; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jessie Gray will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 12 Noon with Rev. Josh Collins bringing the message and Rev. Rick Thomas having Obituary, Prayer, and comments. Burial will follow in the Mooneyham Cemetery with the staff of Southeast Body Shop serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Monday Evening from 6 to 9 PM, and Tuesday from 10 AM to the funeral hour at 12.
