Jerry Paul “Mop Head” Myrick, age 66 of Gray, was born in Knox County, KY on November 1, 1954 to the late Anvil and Roxie Smith Myrick and departed this life on September 25, 2021 in the Good Samaritan Hospital in Lexington. He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed being outdoors, and time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, 3 sisters: Martha Gray, Debbie Mills, and Barbara Cox; and 2 brothers: Terry Myrick, and John David Myrick preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 31 years: Catherine Myrick of Gray; 2 daughters: Diamond Johnson and husband Jerry, and Crystal Hatfield all of Barbourville; 5 brothers: Michael Myrick and wife Sophia, and Tony Myrick and wife Bridget all of Barbourville, Kim Myrick and wife Rhonda of GA, Curtis Myrick and wife Vivian of Gray, and Darrell Myrick of Corbin; 9 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Paul “Mop Head” Myrick will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Glen Collins officiating. Burial will follow in the Stewart Disney Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
