Mr. Jerry Gale “Bird” Hensley, 50, of Barbourville, passed away Tuesday morning, January 11, 2022 at Gray. He was the son of Juanita Miller Hensley Mahan and the late Justin Wayne Hensley born on October 4, 1971 in Galion, OH.
He was a carpenter.
On October 9, 1998, he united in marriage with Carolyn Lee Stewart.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and several other relatives.
Survivors include his loving mother and stepfather, Juanita and Troy Mahan of Barbourville; three sons, Brandon Stewart and wife, Amy, Brent Hensley and wife, Mercadies, and Bradley Hensley and wife, Paige, all of Gray; a brother, Terry Hensley and wife, Tami, of Mansfield, OH; nine grandchildren, Brayden, Ava, Lilyanna and Brooklyn Stewart, Brentlee, Brody, Arabella, Gabriella and Bailey Hensley; aunts and uncles, James and Beth Miller, Ruby and John Smith and Houston and Darlene Miller; nieces, Tara and Tesla Hensley and daughter, Destiny; a nephew, Terry Hensley Jr.; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Wednesday, January 19 at 2 P.M. with Rev. Scott Phipps officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Disney Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers will be Brandon Stewart, Bradley Hensley, Terry Hensley, Terry Hensley Jr., Chris Mahan and Shannon Miller. Honorary bearers will be Brent Hensley, George Stewart, John Stewart, Tim Mahan, Jayjay Miller, Jayjay Smith, Jake Miller and Josh Miller.
Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday after 12 Noon until the funeral hour.
Expressions of sympathy may go to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
