Jerry Dewayne Murphy, age 70 of Barbourville was born in Knox County, KY on December 31, 1954 to the late Stanley and Lavinia Senters Murphy and departed this life on March 18, 2025 in Barbourville. He was of the Christian Faith and enjoyed tinkering, playing the Guitar, cooking outside, boating, helping others, and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, a son: Dewayne Murphy; a brother: Ronnie Murphy; and a sister: Sherry Harker preceded him in death.
He is survived by his loving children: Anthony Murphy and wife Jessie of London, and Crystal Prewitt and husband Joseph of Williamsburg; a brother: Earl Murphy of Barbourville; 2 sisters: Kathy Kohlmeyer and husband Bill of Corbin, and Brenda Ortiz of Goshen, IN; 9 grandchildren whom he loved greatly and they loved him Dearly; other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Murphy will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM with family and friends officiating. Burial will follow in the Ketchin Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Saturday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.
