Barbourville, Ky. – Jerrie Messer, 82, passed away on August 27, 2024, following a brief illness. A retired Licensed Practical Nurse, Jerrie dedicated her life to caring for others with the same kindness and love she showed her family. Her compassionate spirit and willingness to lend a hand to those in need touched many lives.
Jerrie was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Messer; her parents, Estle and Grace Burgin; her brother, Earl Helton; and her dear friend, BP Sowders. She leaves behind her daughter, Vicki Jozefowicz, and her husband, Mark; her beloved grandson, Matthew Jozefowicz, and his wife, Gabrielle; as well as two cherished great-grandchildren, Jamie and Norah Jozefowicz. Jerri is also survived by her sister, Jo Phillips (sons Don and John); and two nieces Joan Maybrier and Sandra Lockard.
In accordance with Jerre’s wishes, no memorial services are planned.
