Mr. Jeffrey Ernest Sears, 30, of Kay Jay, passed away Friday afternoon, November 27, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was the son of Jeff and Pam Partin Sears born on January 29, 1990 in Barbourville.
Jeffery was a self-employed mechanic, a member of the Piney Chapel Baptist Church at Wheeler and the Dirty South Truck Club. He was an antique car enthusiast and thoroughly enjoyed restoring his 1951 Dodge. He also enjoyed fishing, attending car shows and spending time with his family and friends.
On November 11, 2010, he united in marriage with Martha Sanchez.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ernest Partin, Juanita Murray, Kenneth Simpson and Kenneth Bowlin.
Survivors include his loving parents, who loved him better than life, Jeff and Pam Sears of Kay Jay; three beloved children, Brooke Marie Sears, Peyton Cheyenne Sears and Meadow Helton all of Barbourville; his mamaw, Helen Hamilton of Barbourville; special aunts, Margie Golden and Melissa Buchanan; among other aunts, uncles, many cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
A private family graveside service will be conducted Thursday, December 3 in the Barbourville Cemetery with Rev. Sam Buchanan officiating.
Casket bearers will be Zak Brown, Casey Mills, Brett Frederick, J. J. Partin, Paul Hurst and Mike Partin. Honorary bearers will be friends and neighbors.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Barbourville ARH Hospital, first responders, Knox County Ambulance Service and the UK Medical Center 7th floor Trauma ICU for the excellent care Jeffery received.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
Please remember, per the Governor’s mandate effective November 20, 2020 all funeral services will be private. Any person entering the funeral home is expected to be wearing a face covering of some kind at all times including graveside services and maintain the six feet of social distance.
