Ms. Jearldean McNamara Trent, 74, of Salisbury, NC, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Basil and Lucy Abner Trent born on September 14, 1945 in Knox County.
Jearldean was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church and worked for 30 years for Cracker Barrel Restaurants. She was an avid collector and loved to shop for odds and ends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dewayne Hammons and brothers, Emmanuel and Vernon Trent as well as a sister, Helen Smith.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, James Hammons and Todd Hammons; three brothers, Ray Trent, G. C. Trent and Basil “Bug” Trent Jr. and a sister, Georgia Wilburn.
Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, December 2 at 11 A.M. with Rev. William R. “Man” Cobb officiating. Following the funeral, she will be laid to rest in the Nan Riley Cemetery with family and friends serving as casket bearers.
Friends may call at the Linn-Honeycutt Funeral Home in China Grove, NC Saturday between 2 and 4 P.M. and at the Knox Funeral Home Sunday between 6 and 8 P.M. and Monday prior to the funeral hour.
Local arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
