Mrs. Jeanetta Mays, age 89 of Heidrick, Kentucky went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 2, 2025.
She was born on July 19, 1935, in Knox County, the daughter of Harvey and Anna “Dutch” Hembree. Jeanetta united in marriage with Earl Mays and to this union four children were born.
She was a member of the Heidrick Holiness Church and early in life she worked at Warner’s in Barbourville. Jeanetta enjoyed traveling, going to Florida and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was her husband of forty-nine years, Earl Mays, her parents, Harvey and Anna “Dutch” Hembree, an infant daughter, Jan Rose Mays, two brothers, Dennis Hembree and Hoot Hembree, two sisters, Diane Johnson and Joyce McWilliams, brothers-and sisters-in-law, Gooder McWilliams, Ray Mays and Mildred Williamson and husband Roy.
Left behind to mourn her passing, daughter, Kay Townsley and husband Ronnie, son Jim Mays and wife Sherry, daughter Carolyn Joy Mays Cain and husband Larry, grandchildren, Rodney Townsley and husband Geno, Rebecca Mills and husband Brian, Rachel Mason and husband Andrew, Michael Mays and wife Amanda, Jamie Mays, Justin Robinson and wife Ashley, John Earl Robinson, and Braxton Mays and friend Isabelle, great grandchildren, Chase Hill-Townsley, Cade Mason, Anna Grace Robinson, Jenson Michael Wayne Robinson, Luke Walker Mays, sister-in-law, Sharon Hembree, brother-in-law, Doug Johnson and brother and sister-in-law, Johnny Mays and wife Pat. She also leaves behind a host of beloved nieces and nephews as well as her church family from Heidrick Holiness Church and many friends in the community.
Funeral services for Jeanetta will be conducted on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Frazier and Rev. Duke Hammons officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Doolin Cemetery in Heidrick. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Hampton-Hutton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
