Obituary for Janice Sue Baker Partin (1952-2022)

Barbourville, Ky. – Janice Sue Baker Partin, 70, of Macroe Branch, Kentucky passed away April 21, 2022. Janice was the daughter of Charlie Baker and Ida Mae Cooper Baker born to them on March 22, 1952, in Knox County, Kentucky.  On January 19, 1970, Janice was untied in marriage to Jerry Teddy Partin and to this union two cherished children, Jennifer, and Tracey, were born.  Janice was a member of Salt Gum Baptist Church.

Janice will forever be remembered for her feisty spirit and sense of humor.  She was a social person who loved to laugh and have a good time with others.  You could count on Janice to have something funny to say, she was always up for a good joke or prank.  People were drawn to Janice’s outgoing personality.  Janice wasn’t one to hold grudges, as she believed doing so would only serve to poison you.  Janice was strong willed and hard working.  She was a Cosmetologist for many years for Modern Beauty Salon.  In her spare time, Janice enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking (especially deserts and candy), sewing, and quilting.  Janice lived life to the fullest.  She had grit and determination. She believed that if there was something you aspired to in life you should go after it whole heartly.

In additional to her parents, Charlie Baker and Ida Mae Cooper Baker, Janice was preceded in death by brothers Vernon Ray Baker, and David Baker.  Left behind to mourn her passing are beloved children Jennifer Yates (Jeff) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Tracey Daniels of Scalf, Kentucky, brothers Billy Joe Baker of Cannon, Kentucky, and Donald Ray Baker (Joann) of Mackey Bend, Kentucky, sister Laquata Joyce Warfield and husband Eddie Warfield ~ Janice’s favorite brother-in-law.  Three grandchildren Jarod Tyler Partin (Pam) of Morehead, Kentucky, Jessyca Katlyn Lundy (James) of Corbin, Kentucky, and Jeffrey Trystan Yates of Corbin, Kentucky and four great grandchildren Jocelyn Mae Lundy, Mary Willow Mae Partin, Juniper Rae Partin, and Jaylee Mckenna Lundy also survive Janice and will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Salt Gum Baptist Church for Janice on Monday, April 25, 2022, at 2:00 PM.  Reverend Vernon Morris will officiate.  Interment will be in the Macroe Branch Cemetery.
