Obituary for Janice Branstutter Wiseman (1943-2024)

Mrs. Janice Branstutter Wiseman, a beloved wife and mother, passed away on August 26, 2024 in Louisville Kentucky. Born on February 2, 1943 in Barbourville Kentucky, Janice was a proud graduate of Knox Central High School where she laid the groundwork for a life characterized by passion and purpose.

Throughout her life, Janice exhibited a fun-loving spirit, combined with deep compassion, loyalty, and an unwavering commitment to those she loved. Janice worked alongside her husband, Carl, owning and operating their own Trim Carpentry business for 38 years. Janice’s interest extended beyond her work. She cherished spending quality time with her family and friends, engaging in activities such as playing cards and Bunko. Her zest for life, infectious laughter, and love for fun always made time with her so enjoyable. She touched not only her family’s lives but also those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her heart was ever generous, as she devoted time to volunteering, embodying the giving nature that defined her relationships. She was a member of many clubs and charities as well.

Janice is preceded in death by her parents; Sophia Roberts Branstutter, and Henry Branstutter. Two children; Tym Robbins and Tammy Robbins. Eleven siblings; Mary Marie, George Branstutter, Jessie Steed, Christine Smith, Carrie Taylor, Margeret Poole, Lewis Branstutter, Jerry Branstutter, and three infant brothers, Robert, Daniel and William. Four Nieces; Debbie Branstutter, Debbie Steed, Marylin Smith, and Patricia Smith.

Janice is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Carl Wiseman of Louisville. Two dearly loved daughters; Denise Smith (Barry) of Flat Lick and Sheila Baker of Gray. Four grandchildren; Carl James Smith of Flat Lick, Megan Smith of Lexington, Jared Baker of Gray, Shelby Baker (John Johnson) of Gray. Two great-grandchildren; Charlie and Zoey Johnson. One brother-in-law; Bill Taylor of Dallas Texas. Two sister-in-laws; Ruby Wilkey (Gene) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Carol Cathey (Freddie) of Wichita, Kansas. Nieces and Nephews; Euguene, Rick, Lewis JR, Glen, George, Johnny (Paula), Margeret, Carmen, Travis, Sylvia, and Lynn. Great and great great nieces and nephews. Very dear friends: Pam Ruhl, Linda Doyle, and many, many other family and friends left to mourn her passing.

A memorial luncheon will be held at the Scalf Chapel Church fellowship hall Saturday, September 14 at 1 P.M.
