Mrs. Janet Lee Plummer, 74, of Barbourville, passed away Wednesday evening, January 31, 2024 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Clifford Norwood Manuel and Fannie Peyton Manuel born on January 25, 1950 in Richmond.
Janet was a county executive technician with the US Department of Agriculture. She found most enjoyment in traveling with her family and planning the next adventure before the last one ended. She loved seeing the joy it brought to her children and grandchildren. When not traveling, she liked to keep busy with a vast variety of home and flower gardening projects.
Survivors include her loving husband of 55 years, John Plummer of Barbourville; three dearly loved children, Leigh Roark and husband, Tim, of Barbourville, Brian Plummer and Amy Gambrel of Corbin and Adam Plummer and wife, Amanda, of London; sisters, Patricia Keel of Lexington, Joya James of Richmond and Debbie Hardin and husband, Bill, of Nicholasville; brothers-in-law, Paul Plummer and wife, Elaine, of Nashville, TN, Mark Plummer and wife, Ann, and David Plummer all of Lexington; five treasured grandchildren, Taylor Rudd and husband, Steven, Katelyn Hanson and husband, Travis, Brayden Roark and Allie and Cameron Plummer; five great grandchildren, Breanna, Harper and Grayson Rudd and Cash and Romee Hanson; a host of nieces and nephews; special friends, Joann Coscia and J. B. and Debbie Brown; among other loved ones and dear friends.
A private family graveside service will be held in the Lexington Cemetery Tuesday, February 6.
Casket bearers will be Brian Plummer, Adam Plummer, Tim Roark, Brayden Roark, Steven Rudd and Travis Hanson.
Friends may visit at the funeral home Monday between 6 and 9 P.M.
Flowers are welcome but should one wish, expressions of sympathy may go to the Indian Gap Baptist Church, 93 Boone Way Street, Corbin, KY 40701 in her memory.
