James Wesley Foley, 86 of Flat Lick, passed away on Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. He was born in Flat Lick on February 22, 1936, a son of Raymond and Elizabeth Lemons Foley. James favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the Hamilton Baptist Church and had worked for the Division of Forestry.
James is preceded in death by his son, Ronald Lee Foley; parents, Raymond and Elizabeth Foley; brothers, Leroy, Matthew, Edward, John, Lester, and Arnold Foley; and sisters, Cecil, Thelma, Lola and Katherine Foley.
James is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lena Smith Foley; son, James Foley; sister, Trudy Powell; niece and nephew he helped raise, Doris Thompson and Norman Lee Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Prophet Michael Fergerson presiding. Burial will follow at the Polly Jones Cemetery in Flat Lick with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
