Mr. James W. Powers, 75, of Bryants Store, passed away Tuesday evening, November 12, 2019 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington. He was the son of the late Edward and Flora Runyon Powers born on July 23, 1944 in Cincinnati, OH.
James was a farmer, of the Protestant faith and enjoyed yard work.
On November 18, 1989, he united in marriage with Ellen Broughton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Powers and an infant sister.
Survivors include several cousins; among other loved ones and dear friends.
His funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Saturday, November 16 at 3 P.M. with Rev. Ronnie Rose and Rev. Ralph Halcomb officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.
Casket bearers will be family and friends. Serving as honorary bearers will be Dennis Gibson and A. J. Senters.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday after 1 P.M. until the funeral hour.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Knox Funeral Home.
