James Frank McDonald, age 78 of Corbin, was born in Knox County, KY on September 16, 1942 to the late John and Mittie Sears McDonald and departed this life on August 5, 2021 in the Baptist Health of Lexington Hospital. He was a Member of New Vision Pentecostal Church and enjoyed trading vehicles, knives, traveling, growing a garden, cooking and time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, a son: Jeffrey McDonald; a daughter: Darlene Marie McDonald; 4 brothers: Charles McDonald, Jesse McDonald, Joe McDonald, and Glen McDonald; and 2 sisters: Maggie McDonald and Lounette Feltner preceded her in death.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley McDonald of Corbin; 2 daughters: Shanell Lewis and husband Curtis of Lily, and April McDonald of Corbin; 2 sons: James Jr. McDonald of Barbourville and James Robert McDonald of Corbin; a sister: Fay Fisher of Somerset; 12 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.
Funeral Services for Mr. James McDonald will be conducted in the New Vision Pentecostal Church on Friday, August 13, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavenly Angels Cemetery with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Barbourville Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Friends may call at the New Vision Pentecostal Church on Friday from 12 Noon to the funeral hour at 2.
