Obituary for James “Eric” Vaughn (1965-2024)

James “Eric” Vaughn, age 59 of Barbourville was born in Elkhart, IN on July 13, 1965 to the late James Ishmal Vaughn and Evelyn Jordan Vaughn and departed this life on July 20, 2024 due to an accident.  He was of the Baptist Faith and enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, camping and time with family and friends.

In addition to his father: James Ishmal Vaughn; 2 children: Cody Joshua Vaughn and Jamie Lee Vaughn; a sister: Terry Asher; and a brother: Paul Vaughn preceded him in death.

Eric is survived by his loving wife: Mellisa Vaughn of Barbourville; his mother: Evelyn Jordan of Girdler; 3 children: Jennifer Renee Walters and fiancé James Rapier, Justin Eric Vaughn, and John Eric Vaughn and wife Bobbie all of Barbourville; 4 step children: Brandon Disney, Colby Disney, Brianna Mills, and Franklin Mills; a brother: Larry Wayne Vaughn and wife Suzetta of Girdler; 4 sisters: Wanda Webb and husband Jimmy, and Sandy Smith and husband Mike all of Corbin, Paula Jordan and husband Victor and Nancy Louise Asher and husband Glenn all of Barbourville; a brother-in-law: Leonard Asher; a sister-in-law: Claudia Vaughn; 9 grandchildren: Ethan, Evan, Jayla, Alice, Emily, Trever, Breanna, Kaitlyn, and James Ryan; 2 great grandchildren: James Ryan and Madalynn Renee; and a host of other relatives and many friends to mourn his passing.

Funeral Services for Mr. James Eric Vaughn will be conducted in the Barbourville Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 3:00 PM with Rev. Mark Gibbs and Rev. Randy Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow in the Big Frost Cemetery with Rick Disney, Bo Hensley, Aubrey Baker, Terry Mills, Ottis Shark and Jeff Creighton serving as Pallbearers.  Barbourville funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Friends will be received at the Barbourville Funeral Home on Thursday from 1:00 PM to the funeral hour at 3.
